The doctors
Dr. Nupur Ackermans
Family Physician
Dr Nupur Ackermans (°1984) graduated as a general practitioner from K.U. Leuven in 2012. During her studies, she also obtained the ECG diploma and passed the United States Medical Licensing Exam.
In addition to her work as a GP, she has been working for Kind en Gezin (preventive healthcare for babies and young children) since 2010. She is particularly interested in the physical and emotional development of young children, and strives to reassure them during consultations.
She has recently completed several psychotherapy courses with Ybe Casteleyn, Bessel van der Kolk and Gabor Maté, among others. Her main interest is in the psychology of trauma in the broadest sense. This interest stems from her own experience of adoption. This additional training enables her to offer a holistic approach.
She is the proud mother of two sons, Josiah and Thiago. She therefore considers a healthy work-life balance a priority.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing in the choir “De Kleine Johannes” and playing music as a violinist in the musical ensemble “Cr3scendo”.
Dr. Stein Bergiers
Family Physician
Dr. Stein Bergiers (°1983) graduated as a general practitioner from UGent in 2010. During his studies, he completed a two-year internship at a general practice in Hoeilaart. He then worked as a GP in Lokeren and Lochristi and also took on temporary roles as a school doctor for the CLB. Through this experience, he learned to work with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Although he grew up in the outskirts of Brussels, his connection to the city has always remained strong. Since 2023, he has been working full-time in Brussels. As a GP, he values a comprehensive approach to health, emphasizing both physical and mental well-being. He also strives to guide his patients through the sometimes complex Brussels healthcare system.
In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and saxophone. He loves to travel and cherishes spending time with friends and family.
Our physiotherapist
I’m Geert Bauweraerts, a passionate physiotherapist working in Brussels and Leuven.
I studied physiotherapy at the university of Antwerp and graduated at 2005. In 2010 I founded in Leuven a multidisciplinary physiotherapy center ‘Reactive Leuven’ and in 2017 I started my physiotherapy office in Brussels. Because I like to improve myself and like to combine different insights and techniques, I’ve created in the years an holistic way of treating. I use orthopaedic medicine (Cyriax), mobilisation and fascial techniques, kinesiology (i.a. assessing nutritional supplements), Brain Recovery, massage, reflexology, acupuncture, Ayurveda, mindfulness, different types of exercise methods and coaching styles. Besides treating people I also try to motivate people to move. I like to have a healthy lifestyle myself and support a nearby boxing club. I live in Leuven with my wife en two children. I usually consult in English and Dutch and also have a good working knowledge of French.
